Multiple Intelligences

Today I learned about multiple intelligences. It never really occurred to me how many types of intelligences there are. For example, there are spatial, math/logic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalist, music, kinesthetic, and linguistic intelligences. Knowing about what kind of intelligent or combination of smarts a child is, is very helpful because it can help you center activities around the way that child will learn the material. For instance, I found out that I am very kinesthetic (body) smart so anything with movement would be a good way for me to learn something. I think that multiple intelligences is a great way to help the kids out in your classroom!

A Helping Hand

When it comes to using technology in the classroom, I can totally see how it could be difficult for students to realize and know what they are doing. Blogs are kind of confusing! In order to help my students better understand what they are doing, I would help them out the first couple of times and do run thrus. After showing my students what they should be doing and how to do it, I would let them go off on their own and explore the site because that really is the best way to familiarize yourself with something. Next, after knowing my students were comfortable with the blog site, I would let them create their own blog all on their own. The first blog will no doubt be kind of rough, but I hope with lots of practice, it will help make a creative outlet for all of the students. Activities to use blogging in the classroom are absolutely endless!

Having technology in the classroom has many benefits. One type of technology that is really taking off is blogging. Blogging helps students of all ages with social skills and confidence, internet safety, literacy, maths, home to school connection, ICT skills, classroom community, global connections, and is a more diverse place for feedback. With so many benefits, I would definitely use blogging in my classroom. I feel like this would really help my kids in the ways of being able to see more than one opinion and feel more free to voice their opinions. Overall, I think blogging and just technology in general, is a win for all teachers.
